In advance of this evening’s Green Spaces Competition in Richmond (details here), check out this video created by 3north architect, Damon Pearson and interior designer, Emily Smith. The video was produced by Double Take, and 3north landscape architect Andrea Almond helped coordinate the video with Dominion Resources.
Emily describes the video:
“This was part of an investigation into who uses Kanawha Plaza… when they use it… and how they use it. We were able to observe sun patterns, circulation, and program from the 20th floor of the Dominion Resources office building. All of this to provide additional understanding and context.”
This evening at Storefront for Community Design as part of First Friday’s Artwalk. Co-sponsored by 3north and Inaray.

Today, we’re proud to announce the release of Elixr. It’s an iPhone app and social network that celebrates the pleasure of sharing a great drink, like a cocktail, spirit, beer, or wine, with friends.
We’re thrilled to finally release Elixr. The Mobelux team designed and built a polished iOS experience coupled with a custom-built social network and we couldn’t be happier with it. Read a little more about the idea behind Elixr at The Next Web, check out the details on the official site and, most importantly, download the free app on the App Store!
This elegant app has now been out for several days. Congratulations to Mobelux. Well done.

3north Principal Sandy Bond documented the Power Plant building in downtown Richmond several years ago before the building was stabilized. 3north is now helping TEDxRVA stage its inaugural event here on March 22.
…and for the record, the interior now looks more like this:
